It took more than eight months, but thanks to modern restoration techniques and skilful artistry, McMaster’s Book of Hours now looks as it did when it was first created 545 years ago.

A memorial service for former University Librarian Graham R. Hill will be held tonight at 7:00 pm in the Great Hall of the University Club. Hill, who was the University Librarian from 1979 until his retirement in 2005, passed away on April 13. He also served as president of the University Club for many years.

Hill received a B.A. from the University of Newcastle-on-Tyne in 1968, an M.A. from the University of Lancaster in 1969, and an M.L.S. from the University of Western Ontario in 1970. He came to McMaster in January 1971.

The current exhibit in the William Ready Division of Archives and Research Collections is shining a light on the work of renowned peace activists, part of the university-wide Perspectives on Peace initiative.

This year you will once again have lots of options when it comes to late night studying during exams.

Mabel Pugh Taylor Writer-in-Residence Kim Echlin and seven local aspiring authors gave readings of their work at a recent event co-hosted by McMaster University Library.

Floor plans from the recent Master Library Space Plan exercise are now on display in the lobbies of Mills and Thode libraries. McMaster faculty, staff and students are invited to view the plans and provide feedback.

McMaster University Library, the Department of English and Cultural Studies and the Hamilton Public Library invite you to Words and Music, a special event featuring readings by Kim Echlin, the Mabel Pugh Taylor Writer-in-Residence for 2015-16.

The University will be closing at 4:30pm today, in anticipation of the arrival of a major winter storm.

All libraries will begin clearing their building 30 minutes prior to this.
