The libary recently upgraded our authentication service. Unfortunately, this upgrade caused some users to no longer have access to e-resources from off-campus. We did not expect this to happen and we apologize for this error. We are working very hard to resolve these issues.
Please fill in an Off-Campus Access Problem if you can no longer access library resources from off-campus.
From December 23rd to January 4th the library is closed. During the holiday period, staff will occasionally be monitoring the off-campus access problem reports. There may be a delay in our response to you. Thank you for your patience and wishing you all the best in 2023.
Starting on Monday, December 12, 2022, McMaster students, faculty, and staff, when prompted right before accessing a library e-resource, will use their Office 365 login credentials to authenticate and gain access from off-campus. The upgrade will enable single sign-on (SSO) for a seamless experience and multi-factor authentication (MFA) for an added level of security.
Meanwhile, individuals who have been granted access to e-resources as an Alumni, Courtesy, or Retired Faculty patron will access available e-resources using their My Library Account email and password.
There will be minimal change to how library patrons access e-resources. However, in some cases, saved bookmarks will be affected, such as bookmarks pointing to alumni resources or bookmarks pointing to the library's soon-to-be-decommissioned login page (libraryssl.lib.mcmaster.ca).
Starting September, 2022 - Mills will offer quiet study spaces where masks are mandatory.
