McMaster University’s LinkedIn Learning subscription is ending on Sept. 22, 2025.  

LinkedIn Learning came to McMaster as part of a three-year pilot from the Government of Ontario that provided free access to this online platform at publicly funded post-secondary institutions. That pilot ended in 2020. McMaster subsequently extended its access after the end of the provincial pilot.

The Health Sciences Library has come together with McMaster University Library in a new, campus-wide system collectively called McMaster University Libraries. 

The new system now encompasses all four of McMaster’s libraries, including the Health Sciences Library, H.G. Thode Library of Science and Engineering, Mills Memorial Library, and the renewed Innis Library opening in fall 2025 at the McLean Centre for Collaborative Discovery.

Scholars from post-secondary institutions across Canada and the United States recently journeyed to McMaster for a conference which unveiled the Cedid Atlas Tercümesi, newly acquired by McMaster University Libraries.

The extremely rare book is a complete copy of the first atlas printed in the Islamic world using Western European cartographic conventions. Myron Groover, archives and rare books librarian with the William Ready Division of Archives and Research Collections, says there are several elements that make this acquisition unique.

McMaster University Libraries have you covered with a variety of study spaces and extended hours. 

Meanwhile, the Office of the Registrar has reserved one classroom on campus for online exams.

Extended hours at Mills Learning Commons and Thode library start Nov. 25, and further increase on Dec. 6.

Mills, Thode and Health Sciences libraries will have modified hours after exams end on Dec. 19 and will close for the winter break.

Are you a student who’s struggling to understand how generative artificial intelligence (AI) can be integrated with your studies? 

McMaster University Libraries and the Paul R. MacPherson Institute for Leadership, Innovation and Excellence in Teaching recently collaborated to create a resource to help students learn more about the complex subject, with the goal of supporting AI student literacy on campus. 

The resource is readily available on Avenue to Learn and the Office of the Provost’s website.

McMaster students who need help hearing their lectures in classrooms now have more options thanks to a team of McMaster University Library staff.

The university library’s Campus Classroom Technologies team has made assistive listening devices available for loan at two McMaster libraries. It is also working methodically to increase the number of classrooms where the technology is available.
