Looking for a good spot to prepare for final exams this April? 

McMaster University Libraries have you covered with extended hours and a variety of study spaces. 

Meanwhile, the Office of the Registrar has reserved one classroom on campus for online exams. 

Extended hours at Mills Learning Commons and Thode library start March 24, and further increase on April 9. 

After the end of winter exam period, Mills, Thode and Health Sciences libraries will have modified hours beginning April 26. 

Elevator 4 is out of order until further notice. Repair team has been notified.

After being closed for nearly five years, the long-anticipated return of Innis Library is on the horizon. 

Innis, McMaster’s business library, closed its doors in March 2020 in preparation for demolition and the construction of the McLean Centre for Collaborative Discovery. The library, slated to open in fall 2025, will be housed on the third floor of the newly constructed 10-storey building.

The Thode Makerspace student assistants help the McMaster community bring their creative visions to life, but did you know that they also inspire students to get creative through social media? 

Dominick Madulid, student assistant at Thode Makerspace, is a familiar face on the McMaster University Libraries’ Instagram channel @maclibraries. He says being a student ambassador creating content about Thode Makerspace helps to connect the space to a wider audience while also making his role more dynamic. 

McMaster is closed Thursday February 13th due to the major winter storm. Libraries will remain closed all day.

McMaster University Libraries is honouring Black History Month this February with programming across all libraries.

Black History Month is a month-long celebration of Black people's history, culture, and contributions, and takes place in February each year.

"Black History Month is important because it celebrates our black population, while inviting people to recognize contributions Black people have made to broader society, both now and in the past," said Crystal Kerr, diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility strategist at McMaster University Libraries.

What makes a dolphin a dolphin? 

This question will be explored in Usurpers of the Delphic name: Dolphin imposters in the long eighteenth century, the next session of the 2024-2025 Archives Alive series hosted by McMaster University Libraries and McMaster Alumni. 

Thode Library 2nd Floor and a portion of the Lower Floor (outside Makerspace) will be closed from 11am-9pm Friday January 24th for a private event. 1st Floor and Lower Floor silent study will remain available.
