Art feed on the Lyons media wall

Do you have media work that you have created that you would like to have showcased on the large media wall? Great! We love showcasing student and staff art and photography. Please be sure that what you are submitting is not an advertisement, however. If you are looking to submit advertisements for services, events, etc., please use the Advertise on Library Digital Signage service.The focus of our showcasing is on art and course projects. Photography and artwork (digital, scanned, or even a photo of your physical art), are welcome!

How to submit your art/photos

How to submit your art/photos

  • Fill out the submission form, then:
    • Submit all files to media@mcmaster.ca via email, Dropbox, Google Drive, or other file sharing service
      • note that there is a space on the submission form to provide a share link rather than emailing the files to us
  • With each image, also include:
    • title for each image
    • brief description what the viewer would see in the image
      • the title and description of each image are required for accessibility purposes

If you don't hear back about your submission within a week or so, please feel free to reach out to us at media@mcmaster.ca to ensure we received the submission.

Accepted file types

  • Dimensions: any size is acceptable, but larger is always better (submit your highest resolution version, please)
    • image will be resized to allow room for artist information and description
  • Accepted file types: PNG or JPG only
    • We cannot accept TIFFs, BMPs, PowerPoint files, etc.

Be sure that any media you use in your submitted art is your own work.

If you use any additional media that you have not created, be sure that it is covered via a Creative Commons license, is offered royalty free, or that you have permission to use it. Also add proper attribution if you are remixing someone else's work that falls into the above conditions.

If media is found to use copyright protected content without permission, it will not be displayed on/will be removed from the media wall. Fan art may be accepted if the artwork is fully created by the artist submitting the artwork.
