Looking to get your photos, videos, etc. showcased? The Lyons New Media Centre has a large media wall and the staff enjoy showcasing student work on it!

The focus of our showcasing is on art and course projects. Photography, videos, music videos, scanned artwork, etc. are all welcome! For more information, please email us.

How to Submit Your Work

Do you have media work that you have created that you would like to have showcased on the large media wall? Great! We love showcasing student and staff art and photography.

Please be sure that what you are submitting is not an advertisement/commercial, however.

The focus of our showcasing is on art and course projects. Photography, videos, music videos, scanned artwork, etc. are all welcome!

  • Fill out the submission form, then:
    • Submit all files to media@mcmaster.ca via email, Dropbox, Google Drive, or other file sharing service - note that there is a space on the submission form to provide a share link rather than emailing us.
  • REQUIRED: With each image, also include:
    • title for each image
    • brief description what the viewer would see in the image
    • the title and description of each image are required for accessibility purposes

Artwork and photography files

  • Media wall display dimensions: 1920 x 1080 pixels; image will be resized as necessary
  • Resolution: 72-150 dpi (generally)
  • File types: PNG or JPG only

We are sorry but videos are no longer being accepted.

Be sure that any media you use in your submitted art is your own work.

If you use any additional media that you have not created, be sure that it is covered via a Creative Commons license, is offered royalty free, or that you have permission to use it. Also add proper attribution if you are remixing someone else's work that falls into the above conditions.

If media is found to use copyright protected content without permission, it will not be displayed on the media wall. Fan art may be accepted if the artwork is fully created by the artist submitting the artwork.
