This dataset is published by Helimax Energy Inc. for the purpose of facilitating the research and development of wind energy initiatives in the Province of Ontario
The dataset describes several types of wind information and provides coverage for the entire Province of Ontario. The dataset divides Ontario into four regions, and each one contains 100m gridded wind power and wind density coverage at 5 vertical levels of 10m, 30m, 50m, 80m and 100m above ground level. These data are also available at 1km resolution for larger scale analyses. These data are provided in ASCII text format.
The dataset also contains various types of temporal data, describing diurnal, monthly, and interannual variation in wind speed, as well as "wind rose" data, which describes the relative frequency distibution of wind direction. These data are provided in vector format, with points regularly distributed in a 1km grid. Each of these coverages is available at 2 vertical levels of 30m and 80m above ground level.
Attributes associated with this data: windspeed, wind power, wind energy, prevailing wind direction, natural resources, climate change, environment.
