Abstract

This data set is a point coverage that can be used to identify the location of historical occurrences of emergency events. Events captured will include those assigned to the Ministry of Natural Resources by Order-In-Council (OIC) under the Emergency Management and Civil Protection Act as well as events where the Ministry of Natural Resources (MNR) provided requested emergency response assistance. Many of these events will have involved community evacuations, significant structural loss, and/or involvement of MNR emergency response staff.

These events fall into one of the following type categories:

  • Dam Failure
  • Drought or Low Water
  • Erosion
  • Flood
  • Forest Fire
  • Soil or Bedrock Instability
  • Continuity of Operations Event
  • Other Requested Assistance
