Access is available on and off campus to current McMaster University students, faculty and staff.
- WRDS account: Only current McMaster faculty, staff, graduate students (Ph.D. and Masters), undergraduates and research assistants can register for a personal WRDS account.
- WRDS Day Pass: If you don't need a personal WRDS account, current McMaster users can request a WRDS day pass using this form. A McMaster email address is required. Once the form is submitted, a WRDS access link will be emailed to you within minutes.
- ISS ESG and other datasets via WRDS have been fully funded by McMaster's DeGroote School of Business (DSB).
Coverage: 1990s to the present
To access ISS ESG data, connect to WRDS > on the WRDS Subscriptions page (default home page) select ISS ESG > scroll through the resulting list and select from the options displayed.
Contains corporate governance data. It includes directors data, voting results data and shareholder proposal data for S&P 1,500 companies (and others) from the mid-1990s to the present.
McMaster has access to the following ISS ESG datasets:
Directors US - Universe of S&P 1500 companies —range of variables related to individual board directors (e.g., name, age, tenure, gender, committee memberships, primary employer and title, etc.
Governance - Provides data on classic takeover defense and other corporate governance provisions, including: classified boards, cumulative voting, golden parachutes, poison pills, state takeover laws
Other - SHAREHOLDER PROPOSAL: Data for the S&P 1500 including proposals that were submitted but were omitted or withdrawn. • Access lead filer of the proposal, the meeting date, and outcome. • Access lead filer of the proposal, the meeting date, and outcome.
