We are pleased to offer behind-the-scenes tours of our Division to interested groups. Ever wondered what goes on behind the closed doors of the archives? Want to get a closer look at the shelves where the medieval manuscripts live? Wonder what happens in a conservation lab? This is your chance!
Tours generally take about an hour and can accommodate groups of 6 to 12 people — these might include clubs, student associations, or conference groups. One of our staff will show you through our secure collections areas – archival stacks, rare book shelves, and conservation lab – stopping along the way to emphasise selected items from the collection.
On occasion, special accommodations can be made for larger groups or those wishing to focus on specific collections or materials. Please get in touch for details.
Tours must be booked at least three weeks in advance to ensure availability. Owing to time and resource constraints we reserve the right to refuse or cancel a booking, but every reasonable effort will be made to accommodate requests. Email us to discuss tour enquiries.
