Library Accessibility Services is pleased to offer our braille conversion service for staff, faculty, and students of McMaster University. We are happy to accept requests for any print materials you may require. Make your seminar, presentation, or meeting more accessible by contacting us using the tab to the right of this page.
Examples of What we Offer
Inclusive meeting agendas, menus, seminar overviews, promotional fliers, tour pamphlets, and more.
What does it Cost?
We charge a nominal fee to cover production at $1 per page* and $4 for binding should your project require it.
All on-demand braille conversion is performed in-house by our transcription team. While we aspire to quickly produce your product, due to the high volume of material production at the beginning of each term we encourage large projects to be submitted over the spring and summer months to reduce turnaround time.
Braille Production as Accommodation
If you are requesting braille as an accommodation for a specific student who has a registered visual disability through SAS (Student Accessibility Services), please contact Nancy Waite, TD Coordinator for Library Accessibility Services to determine if your material can be converted as part of that student’s existing accommodation.
If you are ready to submit a request please fill out your information using the form tab to the right of this page.
* The fee for production is calculated per braille page rather than a standard printed page. A typical 250-word document in 12pt Times New Roman, depending on formatting, could convert to four pages of braille text or more.
