What is McMaster Experts?
McMaster Experts presents a comprehensive portrait of McMaster faculty research activities via a dynamic web profile featuring affiliations, educational background, areas of expertise, research interests, and a full record of publications. It also maps relationships between faculty at McMaster and facilitates forging new collaborations.
What is the purpose of McMaster Experts?
The McMaster Experts service compiles, curates, and connects information about McMaster's scholars (faculty members and researchers) and their scholarly works. By presenting a comprehensive and connected view of scholarship at McMaster University, Experts aspires to facilitate collaboration among academic researchers and spark increased engagement with other communities in academia, industry, and the media at local, national, and international scales.
Where does this information come from?
The information in McMaster Experts is collected using automatic and manual processes in the McMaster Research Profile Manager--a commercial Research Information Management System (RIMS) called Symplectic Elements.
How is this information managed?
A research profile is created for any individual at McMaster with a faculty appointment. Faculty members can log into the McMaster Research Profile Manager to view and edit their profile information. More information on managing profile information can be found in this guide.
Most information added to (or edited in) the Profile Manager is transferred to the publicly-accessible McMaster Experts pages.
