It’s Teaching and Learning Month at McMaster University, with a robust number of events being hosted by campus libraries.
This annual celebration allows instructors and staff from across campus to participate in a variety of professional development programming related to teaching and learning as a professional practice.
Units from around campus, including libraries, are offering events related to teaching and learning throughout May, with coordination by the MacPherson Institute.
Helen Kula, associate university librarian, Teaching and Learning, says that her team loves to empower and support the McMaster community in developing skills for critically navigating and engaging with an evolving information landscape.
“We are excited to offer such a broad range of professional development opportunities as a partner in Teaching and Learning Month. Our programming reflects the many different ways that the libraries support teaching and learning on campus – both behind the scenes and in the classrooms,” she said. “This is the largest number of events our libraries have hosted as part of this month, and I am really proud of what we have to offer.”
Jennifer McKinnell, director of the Health Sciences Library, added: “The interdisciplinary nature of teaching and learning at McMaster creates exciting opportunities for the libraries to showcase and share their expertise. The breadth and depth of offerings this year is impressive.”
