Box 10 Sorabji audio reels
All the audio reels retain the original numbering given by Frank Holliday who was responsible for creating most of these recordings. All these originals containing works by K.S.S. or programme relating to his work have been copied onto cassette tape for easier use by researchers.
Where dates are given thus: [16/9/64?] they have been taken from annotations on the audio reel box but they may or may not refer to the date of recording since Frank Holliday frequently checked and replayed the audio reels and made notes both on the boxes and on slips inserted inside them. The photographer was Hugh Cecil of London and he has signed the bottom right corner of the mount. It is inscribed by Sorabji to Norman [Peterkin] and dated "13-2-28". This photograph was originally framed and Peterkin has written on the back of the panel as follows: "No. 49A". "This photo of 13/2/38 [sic] of my oldest friend Kaikhosru Shapurji Sorabji is to go to my friends Edward Nairn and Ian Watson jointly, along with the later photo of 1932 by Howard Costa, No.49b, as part of the collection of my "sorabjiana" already passed to them (November 1974). N.P." Holliday has added a note of his own: "Given to me-- at my request, November 1985 by E. & I. Frank Holliday".Black & white, 18.5 x 23.5 cm., with mount 26 x 36 cm.
