Sir John William McNee fonds:
Personal Notebook of Captain McNee R.A.M.C. "Gas Cases" 21 Pp. of pencil notes in an army note book. Printed wrappers with manuscript additions. May 1917-July 1917. Personal Notebook of Gas Cases Made by McNee when working at C.C.S. 51 & C.C.S. 54. He notes the name and rank of each man and then proceeds to note their medical condition--blood count etc. In some cases he goes into more detail, -- "Corpl. Stone - 1st Canadian T.M.B. (57 Div.) - exposed to shell gas at 2 am on 18th July. Walked 3 miles to billet afterwards & had a full meal. Got respiration distress soon after. Came into C.C.S. about 6.45 pm on 18th ... restless ... coughing ... consuming oxygen ... died later. Delirious during night of 18th-19th & throughout day. Also was stone deaf in both ears."
