Marvyne Jenoff fonds. -- 3rd accrual, digital material. --  6.25 GB. -- 1980-2023.

The archivist has done, as best as possible, to reflect the author’s original order and filing scheme, while also attempting to impose some regularity in terms of how a computer will sort the material to display these items. The author regularly uses date codes (MMYY) and drafts (Dn) to identify the manuscripts, in some instances the archivist has rearranged these elements so that the material sorts in a logical order, or has removed information in a title that has repeated from the enclosing folder for name length requirements. Beyond that, the archivist has done their best to preserve the author’s original order and the original file names are preserved in the accompanying metadata.

The author made regular use of shortcut paths to connect related materials together. Unfortunately, these cannot be preserved. They remain in the accompanying metadata but are not reflected in the finding aid. The archivist has moved some material to better reflect relationships that were previously indicated by these shortcuts.

Common abbreviations used:

A&L = Toronto Arts and Letters

CTR = Climbing the Rain

EB = Emperor’s Body

LCP = League of Canadian Poets

PLR = Public Lending Right Program

TWUC = The Writers' Union of Canada

The Truth and the Earring

Notes on drafts: The archivist has added draft numbers in square brackets. This is largely to keep material in the correct order and pair ancillary material with the draft, which is indicated by the date, but not given a draft number by the author. Finally, ‘The Truth and the Earring’ becomes ‘I Was Glad I Had Worn My New Dress’. The archivist has identified it as [Draft 7] to keep it sorted in the correct order, but note that the author has ‘D1’ in the title, indicating this is the first draft of a new work. Researchers will want to look at both this section and the stand alone one under that title. Additionally, there is an earlier chap book titled Truth, Earring, Microwave in the Twoffish Press Books section below.
