In the initial phase of ACAP, we created a unique data bank that saved data from the 1970, 1980, and 1990 rounds of census enumerations from destruction, and we developed the Pan-African Census Explorer (PACE). ACAP continues to be the repository of African Census data. African census micro-data are an invaluable source of information for understanding demographic processes and history in Africa. Over the past decade, ACAP has assembled the largest collection of complete census data in the world. Our expanding data collection currently consists of census micro-data from 55 censuses for 26 African nations. New national censuses are added to the collection on a regular basis. Most African nations and various other regional organizations are collaborating with us in this international effort.
The Pan-African Census Explorer (PACE) will facilitate easy access to census data for demographic and statistical analysis. Eventually, country specific versions of PACE could be available to the government agencies to facilitate easy distribution of the data.

More Info/PermalinkAfrobarometer is an independent, non-partisan research project that measures the social, political, and economic atmosphere in Africa.
Afrobarometer surveys are conducted in more than 30 African countries and are repeated on a regular cycle. Because the instrument asks a standard set of questions, countries can be systematically compared. Trends in public attitudes are tracked over time. Results are shared with decision makers, policy advocates, civic educators, journalists, researchers, donors and investors, as well as average Africans who wish to become more informed and active citizens.

More Info/PermalinkAidData engages in a variety of data collection and value addition activities to publish its ever-expanding suite of data products. Data collection takes place along two distinct product lines: Aggregate Data (or data represented as a single, composite value) and Project-Level Data (or data consisting of distinct, project activities with accompanying project information). AidData's data is sourced from various locations, including but not limited to the OECD-DAC's Creditor Reporting System (CRS), donor systems (such as official data from individual donor governments), and recipient systems (such as Aid Information Management Systems). Value addition activities include (1) activity and purpose coding, (2) geocoding (to produce our expanding repository of sub-national, geospatial research datasets) (3) data curation (the linking, deduplication and presentation of project records gathered from different sources or data collection activities), and (4) data quality assurance (the transformation and verification of data according to standard AidData practice). AidData also collects official project-level data on the development finance activities of non-OECD bilateral and multilateral donors, as well as data on Chinese development finance, collected using AidData's unique Tracking Under-reported Financial Flows (TUFF) methodology.

More Info/PermalinkThe data contained in this interactive dashboard comes from the Estimates of the components of international migration, by age and gender, annual. These estimates are based on 2021 Census counts adjusted for census net undercoverage and incompletely enumerated reserves and settlements, to which are added data from the demographic growth estimates for the period from May 11, 2021, to the date of the estimate. The data presented cover the period from 1971 to the most recent year.
Please note that the table Estimates of the components of international migration, by age and gender, annual includes estimates for age -1, whereas this notion is absent in this dashboard. Age -1 represents people born after July 1 of a given period and not included in the estimate of 0-year-olds. For simplification purposes, estimates for age -1 have been included in the estimates for age 0 in this dashboard.
The components of demographic growth are illustrated based on their contribution to the population size to facilitate their interpretation.
This dashboard is designed to visualize the components of international migration by age and gender at the provincial, territorial and Canadian levels.

More Info/PermalinkThe Arab Barometer was established in 2005 by scholars in the Arab world and the United States. Leadership was initially provided by the University of Michigan and Princeton University in the U.S. and by universities and research centers in Jordan, Palestine, Morocco, Algeria and Kuwait. In 2010, a partnership was formed with the Arab Reform Initiative (ARI: www.arab-reform.net) in order to expand the project’s scope and range of activities, building off ARI’s regional survey work carried out in 2006-2008.
The Arab Barometer was developed in consultation with the Global Barometer project, a network composed of regional barometers in Latin America, Sub-Saharan, East Asia and South Asia (http://www.globalbarometer.net/). Like other regional Barometers, the objectives of the Arab Barometer are to produce scientifically reliable data on the politically-relevant attitudes of ordinary citizens, to disseminate and apply survey findings in order to contribute to political reform, and to strengthen institutional capacity for public opinion research.

More Info/PermalinkThe monthly Building Permits Survey collects data on the value of building permits issued by Canadian municipalities for both residential and non-residential buildings, and the number of residential dwellings authorized. The survey also measures the number of dwelling units demolished.
Building permits dashboard allows users to examine data for a specific month as well as a period of time. Users have options to select seasonally or non-seasonally adjusted data to be visualized. This tool compares month-to-month changes of building permits statistics by different geographic areas and building types. Interactive views such as a map of Canada, bar charts, a data table and a cross report chart are available.
This visualization tool contains only a portion of the data under building permits program. The sum of seasonally adjusted data may not add up to the total due to rounding. Additional information is available at table 34-10-0285-01 as well as in Housing Statistics.

More Info/PermalinkThis product is based on data from the adult and youth components of the Integrated Criminal Court Survey (ICCS). The ICCS is administered by the Canadian Centre for Justice and Community Safety Statistics (Statistics Canada) in collaboration with provincial and territorial government departments responsible for criminal courts in Canada. The survey collects statistical information on adult and youth court cases involving Criminal Code and other federal statute offences. Data presented for adult criminal courts represent individuals who were 18 years of age or older at the time of the offence. Data presented for youth courts represent individuals who were aged 12 to 17 years at the time of the offence.
Absolute change refers to the simple difference in the indicator over two periods of time (new - old). Relative change (percentage change) refers to the change as a percentage of the value of the indicator in the earlier period (((new − old) ÷old;) ×100). It is advised to use measures of relative change when working with larger datasets and quantities in order to provide a more precise description of how the data has changed over a period of time. However, when working with smaller datasets and sample sizes, the use of measures of absolute change is recommended in order to avoid overstating changes within a period of time.

The North American Product Classification System (NAPCS) is used to publish international merchandise trade data on a Balance of Payment basis (BOP). The product information in this data visualisation is available at the product "section" and product "group" levels of the NAPCS classification. Some of the section names have been abbreviated to help with the usability of the tool.
The list of 27 principal trading partners (PTPs) is based on their annual share of total merchandise trade – imports and exports – with Canada in 2012. BOP data are derived from customs data by making adjustments for factors such as valuation, coverage, timing and residency. These adjustments are made to conform to the concepts and definitions of the Canadian System of Macroeconomic Accounts.
Unless otherwise stated, data in this data visualisation tool are on a BOP basis and are seasonally adjusted. Reference to prices in the summary and in the price and volume indices pages are based on Paasche (current-weighted) price indexes (2017=100). The volume index is calculated using the Laspeyres formula (2017=100).
Trade data are revised on an ongoing basis for each month of the current year. Revisions to the previous reference year are published with the release of January, February, March and April data. Revisions to both years prior to the previous year are published with the release of October reference month data.
With the addition of the services section on June 8, 2021, the title of this product has been changed to International trade monthly interactive dashboard to better represent the data contained within the visualization.
