Fonds - Brief Description
St. Paul the Apostle Anglican Church (Caledonia, Ont.) fonds. -- 1872-2005. -- 40 cm of textual records.
Services began to be held in Seneca on 18 October 1838. Services were held in various places in the district by the Rev. Bold Cudmore Hill who also ministered in Cayuga and York. The first church in Caledonia was built in 1844. It was destroyed by fire and a new church was built on the west side of Argyle Street in 1846. St. Paul's was recognized as a parish in 1849. For a more complete history see the pamphlet 1838 From Then to Now 1988.
The fonds consists of parish registers containing statistical records, services, Ladies Guild minutes, and Sunday School attendance. The fonds has been microfilmed. Some undated communicants' records for St. Paul's can be found in theSt. John's Church (York, Ont.) fonds.
Title based on content of fonds.
Fonds on deposit. Ownership of fonds resides with St. Paul the Apostle Church.
