Grace Anglican Church (Hamilton, Ont.) fonds. -- 1919-2006. -- 41.5 cm of textual records.
Grace Anglican Church opened on 31 December 1919 in eastern Hamilton in the area known as the Delta. The first full-time rector was appointed the following year. The church was only temporary with the basement of a new church being completed on 25 November 1923. Its corner stone was laid in late 1925. In 1968 the original church, which had been serving as a Sunday school, was renovated and re-opened as the Christian Education Building. The church was disestablished September 10, 2006 and the parish amalgamated with St. Mary's Church of Bartonville (also disestablished). This new parish was named Church of the Nativity by Bishop Spence on February 7, 2007. It is located at the former St. Mary's site.
The fonds consists of parish registers containing statistical records and services. It has been microfilmed.

Fonds on deposit. Ownership of the fonds resides with Church of the Nativity.

Historical Notes
During the autumn of 1919 a "Rough Cast" structure was constructed on the present site and served as the original Church building. It was completed in time for its opening and dedication on St. Thomas' Day, December 21, 1919, by the Bishop, the Right Reverend William Reid Clark.
The new congregation was ministered to by the Rector of the Church of the Redeemer, Stoney Creek, the Reverend J.F. Carson who became the first Rector of Grace Church and served in that capacity until 1950.
The basement of the present Church was completed and dedicated by Bishop Clark on November 25, 1923. In 1925 the cornerstone of the nave of the present Church was laid by the Bishop, the Right Reverend Derwyn T.L.S. Owen. That portion of the Church was completed and dedicated on Easter Day, April 6th, 1926. By 1955 the present sanctuary and the Chapel of the Annunciation were added, the dedication of those portions of the Church taking place on May 5, 1955, with the Right Reverend Walter E. Bagnall, Bishop of the Diocese officiating.
In 1967 it was decided that the original Church, although still being used for some functions, was far beyond repair. It was replaced by the present Christian Education Building which was dedicated on February 25, 1968, by the Right Reverend C.R.H. Wilkinson, Assistant Bishop of Niagara.
