Mission services were held in Marshville beginning in 1860. Around 1862 Rev. Stannage made a trip to England and brought back the plans for Christ Church, Wainfleet (then Marshville) which was built in 1863. The fonds consists of parish registers containing statistical records and services. The fonds is microfilmed. Some early statistical records for this parish are contained in the registers of the St. James Church (Port Colborne, Ont.) fonds.

According to information provided in Parish Register A, Marshville, later to become Wainfleet, served as a mission station from 1860. The church was constructed in 1863 and entries from the time when the first service was held until September 1864 are contained in the Welland registers (q.v.). Entries for the period from September 1864 until March 1909 are contained in the registers of Port Colborne (q.v.).
