The Library Sustainability Committee, Thode Makerspace, and SUSTAIN 3S03 have teamed up to host a Virtual Repair Cafe! For our first Virtual Repair Cafe, we will be creating (or mending) masks. You are welcome to bring other textile related mending projects you have. No experience required! Our experts in SUSTAIN 3S03 will be guiding us through the project.
Materials and tools required:
- Woven fabric (cotton, flannel, polyester, chiffon; could repurpose household items such as t-shirt/cloth; high thread count sheets; quilting fabric)
- Elastic (household items such as sewing elastic, elastic band, hair tie, shoe lace, ribbons, strips of woven fabric)
- Mending supplies (for hand sewing: needle, thread, and scissors; OR a hot glue gun)
- Miscellaneous (scissors, ruler 30 cm length)
- Optional: beads, nose wire (crafting/floral wire, aluminum foil, folder fastener, twist ties, paper clip, pipe cleaner); bobby pin/clothes pin/ sewing pin
