Looking to get into the holiday spirit of giving?
Consider a donation to the Diversity is our Strength: Holiday Clothing, Toy and Food Drive at McMaster University. Items will be collected from Nov. 25 through Dec. 18.
Suggested donations include new and lightly used winter clothing, new toys, non-perishable food, as well as pet toys and supplies.
“We know the holiday season can be a difficult time for many people, so we’re inviting our campus community to lend a hand, if they are able,” said Lynne Serviss, associate university librarian, User Services and Community Engagement at McMaster University Libraries. “Even a small donation can make a difference.”
Donation bins can be found in the entrances of Mills and Thode libraries, La Piazza at McMaster University Student Centre, Centro@Commons, and the McMaster Campus Store.
All proceeds benefit McMaster Students Union Food Collective Centre, the Hamilton/Burlington SPCA, the Eva Rothwell Centre and a local shelter.
“We’re encouraging everyone to consider diversity, equity and inclusion, especially when it comes to donations of toys and food,” said Crystal Mark, diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility strategist at the university libraries.
The Diversity is our Strength: Holiday Clothing, Toy and Food Drive is hosted by McMaster University Libraries, Hospitality Services, McMaster Campus Store and the Muslim Students’ Association.
