The McMaster University Library ambassador program is back for its third consecutive year with a dynamic team of new and returning ambassadors.
Led by Ariel Stables-Kennedy, first year experience librarian, the library ambassador program helps McMaster students navigate library services and spaces through peer-to-peer engagement in person and online.
During the fall and winter terms, the ambassadors will plan engaging events, produce creative Instagram content, and inform students of the many ways McMaster library can support their learning.
Returning to Stables-Kennedy’s team of ambassadors for 2023-24 is Veronica Larrazabal Zea, third-year mechanical and biomedical engineering student.
Larrazabal Zea is joined by Alyssa Smania, fourth-year English and cultural studies and global peace and social justice student, and Diya Raj Nair, fourth-year health sciences student.
To kick off their term as library ambassadors, we spoke to the team about why they want to represent the library, what they’re most looking forward to as ambassadors, and their current favourite reads.

What do you hope to accomplish as a library ambassador this year?

What is your favourite book or book series?
I could never have a favourite book, but one book that’s been on my mind for a while is Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen. It is truly the original romantic comedy.
