Integrated Criminal Court Survey: Interactive Dashboard on Preliminary Quarterly Data
This product is based on data from the adult and youth components of the Integrated Criminal Court Survey (ICCS). The ICCS is administered by the Canadian Centre for Justice and Community Safety Statistics (Statistics Canada) in collaboration with provincial and territorial government departments responsible for criminal courts in Canada. The survey collects statistical information on adult and youth court cases involving Criminal Code and other federal statute offences. Data presented for adult criminal courts represent individuals who were 18 years of age or older at the time of the offence. Data presented for youth courts represent individuals who were aged 12 to 17 years at the time of the offence. Data are preliminary and are based on fiscal quarters (Q1 – April 1st to June 30th, Q2 – July 1st to September 30th, Q3 – October 1st to December 31st, Q4 – January 1st to March 31st). Year-to-date data are cumulative and represent cases completed between the start of the fiscal year (for example, April 1st) and the end of each fiscal quarter (for example, ‘Q2- Year-to-Date’ includes cases completed between April 1st and September 30th).
Quarterly ICCS data are considered preliminary and represent information for jurisdictions that submitted their data within eight weeks of the end of each fiscal quarter. The data are not retroactively updated and consequently year-to-date data may not equal the total of the most recently released quarter and the previous quarter’s year-to-date total.
Newfoundland and Labrador Superior Court and Manitoba only provide data on an annual basis and therefore are not included in quarterly data releases.
