Geographic mobility of Canadian graduates with a bachelor's degree: Interactive visualization tool

Notes

• This interactive visualization tool shows the geographic mobility of Canadian bachelor’s degree graduates who graduated between 2012 and 2021. It displays the number of graduates from the location of residence at the time of admission (Origin), their location of study and their location of residence one year after graduation (Destination).
• Within the Education and Labour Market Longitudinal Platform (ELMLP), data from the Postsecondary Student Information System (PSIS) were used to determine the place of residence before and during studies and tax data from the T1 Family File (T1FF) were used to determine location of residence one year after graduation. • International students and full-time students one year after graduation are excluded from the analysis.
• The data and methods are subject to revision, all counts are randomly rounded, and totals may not add up to the sum of all categories due to rounding.
• In some cases, the number of graduates whose place of residence is in certain provinces or territories is zero at either the origin or destination point; consequently, these provinces or territories do not appear as origin or destination nodes.
