(Oct 1/11) Is it possible to turn off the music that keeps constantly playing at odd times during the day when the library is closing. Not only is is incredibly distracting, but annoying as well. Or at the very least, restrict it to the rest of the library, not the Learning Commons as its open much later than the rest of the library. Ive been sitting here, for 20 minutes trying to focus but to no avail. It would be very much appreciated if the music would not play everytime the rest of the library is closing, or at the very least decrease the volume!

Library response: Thanks for submitting this comment. We play this music to help us clear the building, and over the years many students have told us they like it. What you have alerted to is that with the change in the use of some parts of our buildings we need to figure out a way to continue using the music as a means to help students exit the building, while at the same time not become a nuisance for students who choose to stay in the Learning Commons area. We will consult with out a/v technicians to see if there is a way we can isolate the Learning Commons so that this music is not played during closing. Thanks again for bringing this to our attention.
