(Dec 10/09) The learning commons is roasting. I walked in and felt like I was going to pass out. Please turn the heat down. If we turn the heat down students will be more alert and more productive, also, we could use the money we save to raise the wages of the underpaid librarians.

Library response:

The temperature in the Learning Commons does vary quite a bit, depending on the temperature outside, the time of day or night, and the number of people in it.

We do report when it is too hot or too cold to our campus facilities people. Sometimes the sensors think it is too cold so it cranks the heat, then adjusts itself again once things are balanced again. We will continue to work with them to make things more stable.
