(Apr 27/09) Stop using 24 hour time in regards to exams, class scheduling and any other matters. 24 hour time is not the standard in Canada, regardless of its adoption by people in Europe or elsewhere. We simply do not use it, neither in our media nor in our educational system: only in universities. While it is a minor point, there is no reason that a rational, intelligent, objective person can see to using a contrary timekeeping system at Mac than we do in any other sphere of our daily lives. If the university persists in such niche market preferences, they might find it helpful to install preferences options for the McMaster site for users logged into their macids, like many social networking and web 2.0 sites commonly use.

Library response: Library clocks don't use the 24 hour clock, but you may be right that other campus units who schedule exams and classes may use this system.  Thanks for your comment. (Jun 22/09)
