What elements are included in an effective presentation? How can I deliver an engaging virtual talk? What presentation style is best for my audience?
LinkedIn Learning Club @ McMaster launches a new campaign for the month of October exploring the craft of creating and delivering captivating, persuasive, and impactful presentations.
This month’s selection of videos was hand-picked by Eline Gonzalez, a fourth-year bachelor of science student and LinkedIn Learning ambassador.
“As we move further into the academic year, many students will be tasked with presenting research or special projects as part of their coursework,” said Gonzalez. “This month’s collection provides helpful tips for students to improve their presentation skills, from creation to delivery.”
The collection includes 11 short videos, which range in topic from creating engaging PowerPoint slides to using your voice effectively while presenting.
Jeannie An, McMaster LinkedIn Learning campus coordinator and Ron Joyce Centre research services librarian, says that strong presentation skills are a valuable asset during and beyond academia.
“Preparing effective presentations and speaking with confidence are skills that students will find useful throughout their lives and in a variety of careers,” said An.
To access this month’s LinkedIn Learning Club content, McMaster students can click the LinkedIn Learning Club banner on their LinkedIn Learning homepage, or search for the title in the search bar. Alternately, users can find the content at this LinkedIn Learning link.
