Opération McGill

Opération McGill collection. -- 1969. -- 12.5 cm of textual records.

L'opération McGill was a massive information campaign against English control of McGill University, culminating in a march of some 15,000 people on McGill University on 28 March 1969. The demonstrators called for "McGill français" and "McGill aux québécois".

The collection consists of statements and press releases by the organizers, le comité d'information de l'opération McGill, as well as reactions by others, including the administration and various student groups. Researchers may also wish to consult the Stanley Gray fonds.

Title based on content of collection.
Collection was acquired from Stanley Gray in the early 1970s.
Finding aid available at the item level in hard copy.
There are no access restrictions.
Further accruals are not expected.
