Matthews, Samuel Samuel Matthews fonds. - 1878-1883. - 1 item. Samuel Matthews was a farmer in Richmond, Ontario. The fonds consists of a notebook compiled by Matthews containing the following:
1. Minutes, 1878-1879, of the Richmond Branch of the Alymer Blue Ribbon Club, whose
members were temperance advocates. The minutes of 30 September 1878 note that 236 people
had signed the pledge.
2. Day book, containing financial account, 1879-1882
3. Farm contracts, 4 April 1882-5 April 1883
4. List of stock bought, April-August 1883
5. Other financial accounts, 1883-1884
Title based on content of fonds.
Fonds was purchased from Gord Russell, Ancaster, Ont. in August 1991.
