Index to Adjoining Sheets
Although an index to other map sheets in the series was printed on the cover panel of most folded trench maps, an abbreviated index was also printed in the right margin to be more accessible when the map was unfolded. This simplified index was meant to be a quick reference guide as it only showed the sheet numbers of the maps directly adjacent the one in current use.
