Who We Are & What We Do
The Maps, Data, GIS Centre is the place to access resources and expertise for all things related to maps and data. Faculty, staff, students and members of the public can visit the Centre to access physical materials from the Lloyd Reeds Map Collection, or consult with specialists about the many statistical and geospatial datasets that are available in digital collections. The Centre has PC workstations with specialized cartographic and statistical software as well as its own flexible classroom with SmartBoard that seats up to 40 students and converts quickly to a study area with tables when not in use.
Specialized equipment such as stereoscopes, planimeters, and opisometers can be obtained from staff for use with maps and air photos in the Map Collection.
Members of the general public are welcome, however, some resources and services may be limited to McMaster affiliates only.
