McMaster University Libraries will once again host professional development opportunities this May as part of Teaching and Learning Month, led by the MacPherson Institute.

The annual initiative brings together faculty, instructors, and staff to explore new approaches to teaching and learning, with a focus on strengthening classroom practices and student success.

The MacPherson Institute advances this work through professional development, curriculum design, and teaching and learning scholarship across disciplines.

As health care grows more complex, McMaster University’s Integrated Rehabilitation and Humanities program is equipping students with the critical thinking skills needed for evidence-informed practice.

Run by the Faculty of Health Sciences, the new program brings together students from a range of disciplines to study the intersection of health, rehabilitation, and humanities. The program focuses on the art and science of health and well-being while helping students explore the deeper reasons behind patient care.

Construction set for this spring and summer will temporarily impact library patron access to some areas of Mills Memorial Library.

The project includes the replacement of the windows and façade due to age and condition on the southeast sides of Mills Memorial Library. 

The library will remain open during this time. However, noise from construction is expected. 

Work is set to begin April 23 (the day after the end of the exam period) and anticipated to be concluded by the end of August, with the possibility of extending into September if needed.

Looking for a good spot to prepare for final exams this April?  

McMaster University Libraries have you covered with a variety of study spaces and extended hours. Meanwhile, the Office of the Registrar has reserved a classroom on campus for online exams.  

Extended hours at Mills Learning Commons and Thode library start on March 23 and further expand on April 8. Mills and Thode libraries will switch to reduced hours after exams end on April 22.  

Patrons are encouraged to check hours online at the links below before visiting campus libraries.
