Among the many ways to provide feedback this fall are attending a virtual town hall and completing an online survey.

Meet Victoria Flores, our ambassador for the 2025 spring/summer term at McMaster University Libraries.

The university libraries’ student ambassador program was developed to help students navigate services and spaces at the libraries by planning events, supporting social media initiatives, and teaching students about the many ways McMaster libraries can support their learning. 

Victoria joined the ambassador program in January for our winter term and will continue with us this summer.

Library professionals from across North America will connect at the annual Workshop for Instruction in Library Use conference, or WILU conference, hosted by McMaster University Libraries next month. 

The event runs from June 9-12, with sessions taking place in the Michael DeGroote Centre for Learning and Discovery and L.R. Wilson Hall on McMaster’s Hamilton campus.

Playwright Anna Chatterton has wrapped up her time at McMaster as the 2024-2025 Mabel Pugh Taylor Writer in Residence – a time that, she says, has been filled with community, growth and connections. 

We chatted with her about her experience this year.

Patrons visiting Mills Memorial Library may notice employees in the stacks sorting books and journals. 

The work is part of an initiative called Keep@Downsview. This partnership between McMaster, Ottawa, Western, Toronto, Queen’s and Memorial university libraries preserves and ensures access to low demand print materials.

McMaster University Libraries’ William Ready Division of Archives and Research Collections is home to thousands of rare materials, and among them is a rare religious text that’s been hiding in the department's shelves since the 1960s. 

Ruth-Ellen St. Onge’s job as McMaster University Libraries’ distinctive collections cataloguing librarian is to delve into the intricate histories of rare books in the collection and to catalogue these findings for the benefit of researchers and the public.

McMaster University Libraries is making it easier for researchers to access materials offered in its collection with LibKey, a suite of tools now available to the McMaster community. 

The LibKey collection includes libkey.io, LibKey Discovery, LibKey Link, LibKey Nomad and BrowZine.

McMaster University Libraries is partnering with the McMaster Museum of Art to host an exhibition that will feature rare books, maps, and antiquities related to the history of the Mediterranean. 

The Great Sea: Mediterranean Imaginaries from Antiquity to Modernity, open at the McMaster Museum of Art from April 1 to August 1, 2025, will feature materials from the university libraries’ William Ready Division of Archives and Research Collections, its Lloyd Reeds Map Collection, and the museum’s own collection of related antiquities.
