Whether you've experienced your own data management accidents or simply want to learn from the experiences of others, join us October 29 from 11 AM - 12 PM for a roundtable session on Data Horror Stories. To celebrate Halloween and Cybersecurity Awareness Month, researchers and support staff across McMaster will share campfire stories of their biggest data management mishaps, disasters avoided, and lessons learned.
From ghostly (missing!) documentation to unexpected backup failures, participants will learn about common challenges as experts recount tales spanning the research lifecycle. Researchers, graduate students, support staff, and undergrads will all benefit from these recounts, as we discuss practical strategies and strong data management practices to improve research data management skills.
