St. John the Evangelist Anglican Church (Cheapside, Ont.) fonds. -- 1953-1974. -- 3 cm of textual records.
On 24 March 1853, John and Lydia Martin conveyed land in Cheapside to the Bishop of Toronto and a church was built on the property in 1854. By the time of the centennial celebrations in 1954, it was one of the oldest churches in Haldimand county.
Fonds consists of parish registers containing statistical records and services. The fonds has been microfilmed on 4 reels, numbered 25-26, 28, 35.
Title based on content of fonds.
Fonds on deposit. Ownership of the fonds resides with St. John the Evangelist Church.
Finding aid available in hard copy and electronically.
Researchers are requested to use the microfilms. They must also sign an agreement of use form.
Further accruals are expected.
