Fonds - Brief Description

The Church of St. James The Apostle (Hamilton, Ont.) fonds. -- 1912-1989. -- 60 cm of textual records.

St. James was established in 1909 to serve Anglicans living east of Gage Avenue between the Mountain and Hamilton Bay. The church may not have been constructed until 1912. The church was disestablished by the Rt. Rev. D. Ralph Spence, Bishop of Niagara on May 2, 2004.

The fonds consists of parish records, including records of baptisms, confirmations, marriages, burials, banns and Vestry books. The fonds has been microfilmed on 6 reels, numbered 349-354 and 399.

Title based on content of fonds.
Fonds on deposit. Ownership of the fonds resides with The Church of St. James the Apostle.
