(Jan 15/08) How about extension cords hooked up to multiple outlet power bars for the study carrels?
Library response: The need for additional power sources for plugging in laptops in the library is definitely a concern, especially in the area of the study carrels. Whenever renovations or re-design of library spaces take place, additional wiring and electrical outlets will be included in the plans.
Unfortunately, adding extension cords and power bars presents a safety hazard for slips, trips and falls as well as a potential fire hazard.
In the meantime, we have recently added 5 electrical outlets and study carrels along the south east wall near the group study rooms to help with the shortage of power sources. (Jan 15/08)
