Fonds - Brief Description:

Historical Notes

The following is exerpted from the Parish History recorded at the end of Register A.

Under the Rectorship of Canon Smith of Fort Erie, services were held in Ridgeway during 1924 and 1925, the Womens Institute Room being used for that purpose. Plans for the Church building were prepared by Mr. G.W. King of Fort Erie, and in August, 1926 the building contract for the basement of the church was let to Shultz Bros. of Brantford.

On Saturday, October 9th, 1926, the corner stone was laid by the Bishop of Niagara, the Right Reverend Derwyn T. Owen, the assisting clergy being Rev. Wm. Burt, Fort Erie, W.G.O. Thompson, Port Colborne, and Rev. James Cosbey of Buffalo.

The land was donated by Mrs. Ellen F. Brewster of Ridgeway.
