(Oct 29/09) people are still talking in the silent areas. The library needs to design a NEW SIGN which includes, NO TEXTING / NO TYPING. just because a computer is silent on its own, doesnt mean it remains silent when you start hammering away on the keyboard. also why cant we use the interview rooms in degroote? there are many empty classrooms on that level and they are EMPTY. and we have a right to use this space (we are paying for it) who do we contact about this?

Library response: Our apologies for the delayed response to your valid concern.  Thank you for reporting this problem to us.  Your idea for a new sign is an excellent one.  We’ll be working on the appropriate signage for our silent study area soon.  We also encourage users in our silent study area to remind their fellow users that this space is intended to be a quiet study area.  Our library staff will do what we can if the noise is excessive. For questions about the interview rooms in the DeGroote School of Business, you can contact the Centre for Business and Career Development in room DSB 112 at Ext. 24611 or you can email them at:  cbcd@mcmaster.ca .  They are open Monday to Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Thanks again for the suggestion.
