The study/consultation rooms (L213/G and L213/H) in Mills Library Learning Commons can be booked for use by students with disabilities for access to assistive technology in the library.

JAWS: A screen reader which reads text out loud and maneuvers about the screen using the keyboard.
Kurzweil 3000: A screen reader which reads text out loud. The text being read is highlighted on the screen.
ZoomText: A screen reader which magnifies the screen up to 36 times. The text can also be read out loud.
Inspiration: Mind mapping software which assists with organizing projects, essays, etc.
Free NaturalReader: A screen reader which reads text out loud. Sentences are highlighted while being read.
Dragon NaturallySpeaking: Speech is used instead of a keyboard to input text into a document. This is only available in Rooms L213/G and L213/H, Mills Memorial Library.

PC Computer with Kurzweil, ZoomText, Dragon Naturally Speaking, Adobe Reader, JAWS, as well as the standard complement of PC software found on Library Computers
CCTV – used to magnify print documents which are displayed on a screen. The colour of the letters and the background can be adjusted to the user’s preference.
Adjustable table (Also available in Thode and Innis Libraries.)
Scanner – user’s can scan print documents and make them accessible with Kurzweil or Adobe Pro.
