Ongoing remote access issues
Over the past ten days, we have had many reports of sporadic issues impacting users who are connecting to our resources from off campus.
This impacts any Web interface running from the Library's data centre, including our main Website as well as the LibAccess bridge to licensed databases and e-resources. What happens is that pages simply will not load. The browser spins and spins, but nothing loads and there are no error messages.
If you encounter this issue, it may be helpful simply to hit reload in the browser whenever a page fails to load. This initiates a new request, and due to the sporadic nature of the failures, it's highly possible that the second (or third, etc.) call will go through.
We are working actively with UTS to pinpoint the precise failure, which initial testing would indicate is a network trunk issue. We apologize for the inconvenience.
