  • Described in Catalogue of the National Map Collection, vol. 10, H1/1100-1899, p. 776: "The large map indicates in colour the counties, townships, major cities and towns, railways, roads and various physical features in Ontario and eastern Quebec.
    The inset map of South Africa was included because of the outbreak of the Boer war. The conflict aroused intense interest in Canada and was a much discussed subject."
