Abstract:

The National Climate Data and Information Archive, operated and maintained by Environment Canada, contains official climate and weather observations for Canada.

The Climate Data Online tool allows download of hourly or monthly data, as well as climate normals, for selected sampling stations in either CSV or XML format  (see http://www.climate.weatheroffice.ec.gc.ca/climateData/canada_e.html)

Canadian Climate normals are 30 year averages used to summarize or describe the average climatic conditions of a particular location.

At the completion of each decade, Environment Canada updates its climate normals for as many locations and as many climatic characteristics as possible. The climate normals and extremes offered at this webiste are based on Canadian climate stations with at least 15 years of data between 1971 to 2000.

Hourly and monthly variables include: temperature, dew point, relative humidity, wind speed, visibility, atmospheric pressure, humidex, wind chill and general weather conditions.

1971-2000 climate normals include detailed temperature, precipitation, days with maximum and minimum temperature, days with rainfall, snowfall and precipitation, days with snow depth, wind, degree days, humidex, wind chill and humidity.

The tabular data can be downloaded in .CSV or .XML format.
