The term "Sessional Papers", also known as "Pariamentary Papers," denotes a wide variety of material created during the life of parliament. Sessional Papers include bills, committee reports, Command Papers (papers commanded to be printed because of their perceived public interest or importance), statistical returns, and other papers tabled before the House.
The department's collection of British Sessional Papers appears in various formats (hard copy, microprint and microfiche), depending on the years of coverage. There is some overlap between the various sets.
