Frequently Asked Questions - Scanning Print Journal Articles

Our apologies!  Sometimes we may forget to scan a page or a page does not scan very clearly.  Just let us know which page you would like resent by emailing us at and we will get back to you as soon as possible. 

Good question!  We are happy to send your scanned journal to any email account that you provide in the form.

Your request may have been denied for one of the following reasons:

1.  You are not a currently registered McMaster faculty, staff or student.
2.  You requested a journal article that is available online.  We only process requests from print only journal articles.
3.  You requested more than one article from a journal issue - according to Canadian copyright law we are only able to send you one article from a journal issue or more than one article if the total number of pages does not exceed 10% of the issue.


We are sorry to hear that you have not received your article yet.  We aim to respond in 48 working hours (Monday - Friday).  Send us a reminder email and we will get back to you as soon as we can!

Please send us an email at indicating the journal and article title and we will do our best to send your article as quickly as possible.  Our regular turn around for a request is 48 working hours (Monday-Friday).

You would have received an email confirming we received your request.  If you didn't receive this email, perhaps your email was entered incorrectly.  Try again!  If you still do not receive your email, just send us an email and we will figure it out.

Unfortunately, this service is set up to send print only journals.  Scanning a microfiched journal is something we can look at in the future.  Stay tuned!
