In PowerPoint 2007, how can I get the Slide Master to change a footer from a prior presentation?
Go to Insert > Header and Footer to add the text -- or at least to "activate" it. Just typing in the footer box on the slide masters doesn't make the footers show up on the slides.

Microsoft will tell you that
Microsoft will tell you that once you create a footer in Powerpoint 2007, it can not be edited.

They are wrong.
If you click on date/time on the text ribbon a familiar 2003 window opens. Any changes in the footer box will instantly be reproduced in every footer.
The reason given for removing this option (so the footer can be different on every page) is illogical, as consistency is the purpose of a footer.
Even more weird is being told by Microsoft that it cant be done when in fact it can.
Weirder still, (with the removal of "Record Macro" facility ) is expecting the public to pay for an upgrade to a new version that does less than the old one.
