The debut of Google Scholar in 2004 prompted discussion about its place within academic research. In response to this discussion and in order to inform our patrons about the capabilities of this resource, we have taken an in-depth look at Google Scholar as a resource for health sciences research. The results of this inquiry have been compiled in a "Fact Sheet" which covers the pros and cons of Scholar and aims to guide our patrons in making decisions about its appropriateness for health sciences research.
