e-Books available through our vendor, EBL, will be unavailable due to scheduled maintenance on Thursday, September 27th from 1-3 AM. The actual downtime required will likely be less than the scheduled 2 hours, but please expect that the services will be unavailable for a brief period during this time frame.
The e-journal server @ ScholarsPortal is down at present. We will post updates as they become available.
Update: access has been restored (1:30pm)
We are experiencing some authentication issues which are preventing users from viewing or using EBL e-books. We are working with the vendor to resolve this problem, but don't expect this to happen until next week. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.
Update: access appears to have been restored. Please do not hesitate to report any further problems to Anne Pottier (firstname.lastname@example.org).
Classic MORRIS will be unavailable Friday September 14 at 6pm for about 14 hours. The following services will be affected:
- My Account
- Course Reserves
- Full details link in the new Library Catalogue interface
Over the past year, we've been working on improving access to e-Resources on the library home page. As a result of these changes, as well as the implementation of our new catalogue interface, the e-Resources page has now been discontinued.
The search options on the library home page provide access to all the e-Resources you should need!
More useful links:
Found exactly the book you need for your research? Or maybe just one you really like? Want to get a copy for yourself?
We've added a new feature to the library's catalogue to make it easy. When you click on a title in the library catalogue, take a good look at that Item Details window. Near the bottom you'll find a "Buy from Amazon.com" button. Click it, and you'll be taken directly to that book in Amazon. From there, you have all the usual Amazon options. Use the library's copy or get your own: the choice is yours!
University Technology Services has notified us that traffic on the campus network will be interrupted for maintenance and software upgrades between 7:00 am and 9:00 am on Sunday, 29 July 2007.This will mean that access to library web sites and eResources will be interrupted or unavailable in that period of time.
The ORION network is being improved. Beginning Wednesday, July 25 at 9 p.m., there will be an interruption affecting Internet access to and from McMaster, as well as ORION network access (connectivity to other universities, colleges and research networks). This is necessary to upgrade the network and to enable new services. The work is being performed in segments affecting one institution at a time as the work progresses throughout the province. At McMaster, a four-hour window has been scheduled from 9 p.m. until 1 a.m. with an estimated two-hour service interruption.
