Oral History Archive of Holocaust Survivors

McMaster University has become the first Canadian institution to offer full access to videotaped testimonies of Holocaust survivors and other witnesses, nearly 52,000 in all, contained in one of the largest archives of its kind.

Recorded in 56 countries and in 32 languages--mostly between 1994 and 1999--the interviews are contained in the USC Shoah Foundation Institute's Visual History Archive, which can be accessed either remotely or on campus through secure access to McMaster University Library.


Coming Soon: New Look for Scholars Portal Search

At the end of July, the Scholars Portal Search interface common to many of our databases will be replaced by a new platform from ProQuest.  This will mean changes to many of our most popular databases, including PsycINFO, Sociological Abstracts, EconLIT, and many more.

Journal of Fluid Mechanics Digital Archive

Every issue of the Journal of Fluid Mechanics is now online for McMaster researchers.  Through one-time funding, the Library has been able to purchase 1956-1996 of this important journal, which covers fundamental aspects of fluid mechanics, and their applications to such fields as aeronautics, astrophysics, biology, hydraulics, meteorology, oceanography, geology, acoustics, and combustion.


Nature Archive

Thanks to a one-time gift to the University Library, we have been able to purchase the Nature archive. This package, the backfile of the journal Nature, covers the years 1869-1986, giving us stable, perpetual, online access to all years of this title. You can browse the archive  or access it through our related journal databases.

The Library is in the process of moving to a new software platform for its collection management and circulation functions. This will bring with it changes to the catalogue that you see when looking for library resources. Here’s a snapshot of what you can expect:
