Beginning March 12th, the Innis Library (located in KTH Room 108) will be open on Saturdays from 11am to 5pm.
The initial decision to close Innis on weekends was made based on gate counts and usage statistics. The Library has responded to the increasing demand for more study space from Commerce students by re-opening on Saturdays, providing limited service only. Innis Library has seating for over 200 students. It not only has a quiet study area, but also a silent study room and 7 bookable group study rooms.
The MSU is surveying its' members on this topic by asking the question:
Would you prefer to see the library invest in the laptop loan program or would you prefer to see the library invest in additional seating?
Library fines have remained constant for the last 25 years. As we work to ensure that we get materials back in a timely way, so that all of our users have fair access to library materials, we now find it necessary to increase these fines.
